DocuSign - Setup

SolutionView E-Sig Feature

Step 1. DocuSign - Overview

Today, in the SolutionView platform, we allow tags to be placed on the PDF documents generated in the app after each appointment. These tags can be placed on the standard PDF as well as on any custom PDFs that are included for your organization.

In the SolutionView Admin, these tags are created and assigned. We are working on enhancements to make this functionality available for each customer. Until that is completed, please get in touch with us at support@solutionview.com to get your tags placed.

These are rendered red in the example. Before finalizing, the red would be changed to white to be hidden from the customer’s view.

Step 2.  DocuSign -Implementation Steps

Create or sign into your DocuSign account

To utilize the template feature as demonstrated below, you will need to have a paid account with DocuSign. Templates are available with the lowest tier, however the lowest tier has caps on the number of sends you have monthly.

Step 3. DocuSign: Creating a Template

Templates in DocuSign can be created to take the manual effort of placing signatures on each unique uploaded customer packet PDF. When e-sign tags are placed in a document, they are associated with the field in the proposal.

What does that mean?

Based on your generated PDF, signatures, and dates could appear in different areas and pages in your PDF. The e-sign tag moves with each of these so that DocuSign can accurately place signatures and dates in their software.

Upload a proposal out of SolutionView that has the e-sigs assigned. Press “Next”

Add a placeholder for each individual you want to have signed through DocuSign. This example only includes the customer's signature, but you also could add the company rep's signature as a placeholder.

Scroll to the first page in the proposal that has e-sigs assigned. In this example, it is the Project Overview page.

Drag the standard field “Signature” onto the page.

With the signature field selected, navigate to “Location” in the right-side navigation. Press “Set Up”

In the field, type the e-sig tag that is associated to this field in the proposal. In this example, “//csig//” is the tag placed for the Customer Signature on the Project Overview. Press “Apply”

Do the same for all fields on each page of the PDF document. As you see above, when you use the AutoPlace feature, it snaps the DocuSign field to it.

This document has two unique customer signatures with dates, but they are placed four times throughout the document.

When you have completed the mapping, press “Next”

Then title your template and press “Save Template” on the following page.

When finished, you will have the template available to be applied when uploading unique customer packets for each of your customers.

4. DocuSign - Uploading Documents

Here are the steps to upload documents into DocuSign:

Upload your document

In the bottom right of the document, press the additional options icon. Select “Apply Templates”

A dialog will appear. Select the template you have created. Press “Apply Selected”

When successful, the document will show that a template has been applied. Press “Next”

Add your customer’s information and make any necessary adjustments

Review that the tags are applied in the correct areas. Then, send your document to your customer.

Professional experience, aided by the SolutionView integration

When a customer receives their customer packet through the DocuSign software, they get an extension of the experience that they received when they learned about their potential project by a sales rep using SolutionView.
