Recommended iOS Devices

Highly Recommended Device

  • Display Size: The larger the display, the easier it will be for your customers to be engaged with your presentations. If you prefer a mid-size display, the 11-inch can be a good combination of being mobile and having a great display for presentations.
  • Storage: iPad Pros have a minimum of 128 GB of space up to 2 Terrabyte. This is sufficient for use in the field. We have very few customers that have more than 10 GB of space needed for presentations. The only other large factor on space over time are the photos you take on the device, but there are ways to clear that storage space.
  • Connectivity: We recommend devices that are connected through a cell carrier. While appointments can be ran without connection, a cell connection allows you to update your calendar, receive updates, and complete your appointments without the need of a hotspot.
  • Chip: It's powered by the M2 chip, offering blazing-fast performance.

Other Devices

The current generation iPad Air, released in 2024, comes in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. Both models are powered by the M2 chip, offering a significant performance boost. Storage options range from 128GB up to 1TB, providing ample space for apps, files, and media.

We don't recommend against this one, but lacks the features in display, audio quality, and camera. This can, however, be a good device to have in the office for review of the app and your company's configuration. The current generation iPad (10th generation) has a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display. It offers storage options of 64GB or 256GB. The iPad is powered by the A14 Bionic chip.

Not recommended: "Older tablets, especially those 5 years or older, may experience performance issues and limited support. Apple typically discontinues software updates for devices this old, which can lead to security vulnerabilities and outdated features.

Note: SolutionView can be installed on an iPhone, but you will not have access to start a meeting from a phone. The phone version is limited to the calendar, appointment page, and resources in the menu.

Why do you recommend iPad over Android?: For us, it is often more difficult to keep up with the varying Android OS versions, etc. There are some features that do not function as smoothly as you would find on an iPad device. Our team and trainers primary devices are iPads and find the experience to be preferred.

Printers

If you want to print from an iPad, you'll need to use AirPrint (network printing via wifi) as iPads don't support USB printing.

Recommended Accessories

(not required and these brands are just recommendations)

There are other keyboards offered by apple and also compatible keyboards that can be found on Amazon. Those are sufficient as well, but do lack a trackpad that acts as a mouse.

With a compatible Apple Pencil, you'll be able to take advantage of 3rd-Party drawing apps with efficiencies gained. Within SolutionView, you can use a pencil to draw over text fields and use with photo annotation.

The case recommended above is our recommendation if you purchase a Magic Keyboard, since it allows you to keep the case on while using the Magic Keyboard.

If you do not purchase a Magic Keyboard, there are many options for cases that can be found on Amazon to fit your needs, many of which can be found for around the $30 range.
